From 2003-2009, I had a clothing company. The company produced two labels: Birdbrain and Love Nico. Birdbrain was a lower price range and mass-produced, and it sold exclusively at Hot Topic.

Love Nico was a higher price range, and almost every single tee we produced (over 20,000) was screened, dyed, and embellished by hand (me, myself and I). There were a few times when I had to have Love Nico mass-produced, for major chains such as urban Outfitters, but my hand-screened style was carefully and painstakingly emulated by some wonderful screeners out in California.
|
Over time both clothing labels gained a good deal of success, selling in boutiques and chains around the world. I had a several year excellent run. Having no prior experience in fashion, it was a great surprise that my designs were initially taken to so well by buyers.
Eventually I also branched out into other areas, working with musicians as a stylist, and occasionally producing one-of a kind work and commissioned items.
Though Love Nico and Birdbrain are no longer working labels, I still own and can produce any of my designs under my own name, which is what I'm currently working on. Check out my Boutique for some of the old Love Nico designs.
In addition, my CafePress Boutique will include some of the thousands of Birdbrain designs I've made that have not as of yet been produced. I have a few of them up now.
